I love photographing teens in the studio, especially in natural light! Can you tell this beauty was shy during the session? In today's world of the selfie you'd think we'd all be used to being photographed by now, right? Nope. Many people that step foot in the studio, whether adults or children, are very uncomfortable in front of the camera. It's my job to set them at ease for a relaxed and natural expression. The smiles are real when I can connect with them and find the thing that makes them laugh. Annelise was an absolute delight and so beautiful in this casual session.
Why did I choose children's portraiture? That choice was an easy one. Working with kids is always filled with silliness, fun and laughter! We get to play together and create amazing and honest images. My favorite portraits are those candid silly ones where their true personality comes shining through. Yes, we get those coveted perfectly posed smiles too but only after plenty of silliness and "light tests" as I call them. The light tests ease the children into the session and get them comfortable in front of the camera. Here's a look behind the scenes. I’d love to see your littles in the studio! ❤️ Amy
